If you ask anyone who knows me, they would probably tell you that I was born to do what I do! My biggest life interests have revolved around the subjects of people, food, and feeling better.
I received my BA in Spanish Language and Culture at Pace University in New York City before enrolling at NYU to study Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics. Alongside my clinical training, I worked with several holistic nutrition mentors who helped me merge the clinical and alternative aspects of health—a balance which I strive to maintain in my nutrition work today. Before starting Sheets Nutrition, I worked in several practice areas including high-risk pregnancy, inpatient/outpatient, and corporate health.
My lifelong passion for food, wellness and healing has led me to believe that there is no one-size-fits-all solution. My approach takes into account the entire person—physical, mental and emotional. I do not believe in “dieting” and prefer to focus on what you can do to feel better rather than focusing on restriction.
Outside work I like to travel, explore nature, and spend time with my two boys, Oliver and Alex.
I look forward to supporting you in your journey to better health and wellness!
I have been in the medical field for over 26 years, working in a variety of health care settings. My years as a RN have been in critical care— Emergency Department, Trauma ICU, CVICU, and the Cardiac Cath Lab. After leaving direct patient care, my next career destination was case management, where I focused on chronic disease management. Throughout my career I have helped to educate people living with diabetes or pre-diabetes, including several members of my own family. Diabetes and pre-diabetes is so prevalent today and people are in need of someone to help provide support and encouragement. It is for this reason that I decided to become a Certified Diabetes Educator and Lifestyle Coach for the CDC recognized Diabetes Prevention Program. My goal is to not only educate, but to lift people up with positivity and guide them to their very best self!
When I’m not working I spend most of my time with my husband of 19 years. We volunteer in our community, each of us dedicating at least 70 hours per month to teach people how to read and study the Bible in both English and Spanish. Faith and family take high priority in our lives. In addition, my husband and I love going to the beach, playing tennis, hiking, roller skating, and dancing. We try to stay active as much as possible.
